Electricity prices have been raised by Rs1.74 per unit, as announced by the National Electric Power Regulatory Authority (NEPRA). This adjustment, which impacts both K-Electric and other Distribution Companies (DISCOs), will affect consumers nationwide.
The increase, implemented as a quarterly adjustment, will add approximately Rs43.23 billion to the burden on electricity users. This hike will be in effect for the months of September, October, and November.
NEPRA communicated this decision to the federal government on September 6, and consumers should brace for higher electricity bills as the new rates come into play.
