Education Ministry to Revise Outdated Matric Curriculum

By

Jul 11, 2024

Last week, officials from the Ministry of Education and the Textbook Board met to discuss updating the outdated matric curriculum. They agreed that the current group system needs a major change to better fit today’s needs.

The proposal suggests replacing the existing group system with a single, unified curriculum that includes subjects from all three current streams. This would provide students with a more well-rounded education.

To support this change, new textbooks will be created to combine the material from the three groups into one comprehensive curriculum. This is expected to simplify the education process and ensure all students get a broad education.

A follow-up meeting will be held after Ashura Muharram to review and finalize the proposal, which will be key in deciding how to implement the curriculum changes.
