The salaries and benefits for Members of the National Assembly (MNAs) have been revealed. Each MNA earns a base salary of Rs 150,000 per month plus Rs 38,000 in allowances, totaling Rs 188,000 monthly.
Chairmen of Standing Committees receive an additional Rs 25,000, bringing their total to Rs 213,000 per month. MNAs also get Rs 8,800 for each National Assembly or Standing Committee session they attend.
Travel expenses include Rs 150 per kilometer for air travel and Rs 25 per kilometer for road travel. MNAs receive annual travel vouchers worth Rs 300,000, Rs 90,000 in cash, and 30 business class open tickets.
In other news, the Punjab Assembly has approved Rs 180 million for luxury vehicles. This includes a Toyota Land Cruiser for the Speaker at Rs 100 million, a Toyota Fortuner for the Deputy Speaker at Rs 22.5 million, and additional vehicles for security and assembly staff costing Rs 30 million.
