In a recent announcement, Moazzam Ghurki, President of the Pakistan China Joint Chamber of Commerce and Industry (PCJCCI), talked about how the China-Pakistan Economic Corridor (CPEC) is going to make a big difference in Balochistan. He mentioned that countries nearby, like Tajikistan and Uzbekistan, will use the corridor to sell their stuff and do business through the Gwadar port.
According to PCJCCI Senior Vice President Fang Yulong, Balochistan has a lot of valuable minerals and a thriving fishing industry. Yulong thinks the government is serious about helping Balochistan make the most of these resources to help the people of Pakistan. He believes that the projects in Gwadar and under CPEC will bring some major changes to Balochistan.
The government is putting effort into improving roads, building industries and farms, creating jobs, and providing basic stuff like water and electricity in Balochistan. Yulong thinks it’s important to invest in things like transportation, water, farming, technology, energy, and education to really help Balochistan grow.
PCJCCI Vice President Hamza Khalid mentioned that the new government wants to make Balochistan better off, just like the other provinces. He said that Pakistan, Uzbekistan, and China agreed to set up special areas in Gwadar and Tashkent for storing goods to make it easier to move things around.
PCJCCI Secretary General Salahuddin Hanif is excited about the opportunities CPEC will bring to Balochistan. He thinks Gwadar is super important for CPEC and will help the whole province grow. Hanif believes that CPEC will help Balochistan deal with its money and social problems and move forward.
