Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz Sharif has unveiled a series of significant educational initiatives in Punjab, including a substantial financial commitment to support students. The Punjab government will allocate over Rs 125 billion annually to cover the educational expenses of 25,000 students.
During a recent meeting with the Education Department, CM Maryam instructed that awards be given to top-performing students and their teachers across all education boards in Punjab. Additionally, she approved the launch of the Students Scholarship Programme and the Laptop Scheme, emphasizing the need for prompt action to implement these programs.
“Our commitment is to invest over Rs 125 billion each year to support the educational needs of 25,000 students,” said CM Maryam Nawaz Sharif.
She also announced the start of a transport program aimed at female students, with plans to provide buses to 60 girls’ colleges in Punjab in the initial phase. Furthermore, CM Maryam directed the swift establishment of IT hubs in all districts of Punjab to enhance digital infrastructure and support student learning.
