Punjab Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz launched the ‘E-bike Program,’ giving the first E-bike to a student from Jampur. She also introduced the Vehicle Inspection Regime for Private Vehicles and awarded an e-loader rickshaw manufacturing license.
The Punjab government is covering Rs. 20,000 of the Rs. 40,000 down payment for E-bikes, benefiting over 8,000 female students. The initiative aims to provide eco-friendly transportation and will also include solar-powered charging stations in colleges.
Maryam Nawaz announced a Rs. 25 billion scholarship program, electric buses arriving by December, and efforts to combat smog. She reviewed electric rickshaws and discussed improving internet access for job opportunities.
In May, BCCI Vice-President Rajeev Shukla mentioned that the Indian team would only go to Pakistan if the Indian government allowed it.
