CM Maryam Nawaz Reflects on Resilience and Announces New Education Initiatives
In a heartfelt speech at the Chief Minister’s House, Chief Minister Punjab Maryam Nawaz shared her personal journey of overcoming political challenges, imprisonment, and legal battles. She remarked, “It’s not easy to make someone like me cry,” reflecting on her emotional response to the achievements of top-performing students.
The event, hosted to honor high-achieving students along with their parents and teachers from across Punjab, saw CM Maryam express deep pride and admiration. She congratulated the students and their families, anticipating even greater success in the future.
Despite her own trials, including facing imprisonment, CM Maryam was moved to tears by the students receiving a guard of honor. “Seeing you, my students, receiving the guard of honor brought tears to me. It’s not an easy task to make someone like me cry,” she stated.
During her address, CM Maryam highlighted the Punjab government’s commitment to continuous improvements in the education system. She lauded female students for their exceptional performance and praised the Minister of Education for prioritizing merit, emphasizing that the future of Pakistan depends on the youth.
In her announcements, CM Maryam introduced several new initiatives:
The ‘School Mail’ program, which will provide free milk to children, starting in South Punjab and expanding throughout the province.
A revival of the laptop scheme.
An increase in the number of e-bikes for students to 30,000, enhancing mobility and access to education.
These efforts are part of CM Maryam’s broader vision to support and uplift the educational sector in Punjab, ensuring better opportunities and resources for students.
