Christian Woman Sentenced to Death for Posting Blasphemous Content Online
A Christian woman has been sentenced to death by a court in Islamabad for online blasphemy. She was accused of making derogatory comments about the Holy Prophet (PBUH) in September 2020.
Judge Mohammad Afzal Majoka found her guilty under Pakistan’s laws and also imposed a fine of Rs. 100,000.
The woman was part of an Indian WhatsApp group that discussed religious topics. She was accused by Shiraz Ahmed, another member, of posting the offensive remarks.
Her lawyer, Rana Abdul Hameed, explained that she joined the group in 2020 and later became its admin, where members of different religions shared and debated religious views.
