A Chinese spacecraft that traveled to the far side of the Moon has successfully returned to Earth after a 53-day mission, marking a significant achievement in space exploration. The China National Space Administration confirmed that the Chang’e-6 module landed in Inner Mongolia at 2:07 pm (0607 GMT), stating that the mission went very well.
The samples collected from this less-explored part of the Moon are expected to help scientists learn more about how the Moon formed and changed over time. This area has a rugged surface that has been less altered compared to the side that faces Earth.
China’s space agency noted that the spacecraft performed as expected during the mission, confirming its success.
