Chinese Construction Company's Offices Shut Down in Private Housing Society

On Monday, the Rawalpindi Development Authority (RDA) took action against a Chinese construction company, sealing their offices in response to complaints from residents of the Eighteen Housing Project.

According to an RDA spokesperson, the move was prompted by identified security risks at specific plot locations. Notices were issued to the CEOs of China Gezhouba Construction and Management Services Private Limited and M/S Elite Estates Private Limited, regarding their projects in the housing society. Residents had expressed feelings of insecurity due to the company’s unauthorized construction activities, which were initiated without notifying relevant security agencies.

The RDA’s decision to seal the offices was made in the national interest, and Chinese residents within the society are now restricted from moving around until a security NOC is issued by the Punjab government.

This move comes after security officials raised concerns about Chinese nationals failing to adhere to government security protocols during a recent meeting at the deputy commissioner’s office in Rawalpindi.”
