Pakistan is about to make a big move in battery technology with a new partnership between BYD, a leading Chinese auto manufacturer and battery maker, and Diwan International Pvt Ltd, Pakistan’s top solar component distributor. They will be supplying advanced Lithium-ion batteries for solar systems in Pakistan.
The new battery, called the LV Flex Lite, uses Lithium Iron Phosphate (LFP) technology that is already proven safe in millions of electric vehicles worldwide.
This partnership is a major step forward for Pakistan’s renewable energy sector, adding to Diwan International’s impressive list of global partners like Huawei Solar Inverter, Jinko Solar, Trina Solar, and Longi Solar.
With Pakistan dealing with air pollution and rising greenhouse gas emissions, this collaboration aims to support the local electric vehicle battery market, reduce carbon emissions, and promote clean energy.
BYD, which recently surpassed Tesla to become the world’s largest electric vehicle maker, has a global presence in countries like Chile, Brazil, and Mexico. The company’s expansion into Pakistan also opens opportunities for exporting Right Hand Drive (RHD) vehicles to other markets.
