The Capital Development Authority (CDA) is set to create a wildlife safari park in Islamabad, marking a significant initiative to enrich recreational options and wildlife conservation efforts in the federal capital.
This decision was finalized during a meeting chaired by CDA Chairman Muhammad Ali Randhawa, attended by senior officials. The safari park will adopt a ‘Jungle Theme’ and feature tree houses designed to offer visitors up-close encounters with wildlife. An animal rehabilitation center will also be integrated into the park, underscoring its conservation focus.
A technical team has been assigned to draft a feasibility report for this ambitious project, with Chairman Randhawa highlighting the need to draw lessons from international safari park models to ensure Islamabad’s park meets global standards.
Both initiatives are slated to commence in the upcoming fiscal year pending comprehensive technical assessments. Chairman Randhawa expressed optimism about these ventures enhancing tourism and introducing fresh recreational avenues for Islamabad residents.
Randhawa emphasized, “These initiatives demonstrate our commitment to developing cutting-edge facilities that not only entertain but also champion wildlife preservation and cultural enrichment.”
