King Charles III awarded the Commander of the British Empire (CBE) honor to Asif Rangoonwala, recognizing his philanthropy in the UK and South Asia, especially Pakistan. As vice chair of the British Asian Trust (BAT), Rangoonwala was honored in the 2024 Birthday Honours for his charitable work.
“I am deeply honored,” said Rangoonwala, expressing gratitude for the recognition and pledging to continue promoting a fairer world.
He highlighted his parents’ legacy of public service and the Foundation’s impact in Karachi, focusing on education for underprivileged children and plans for expansion.
Acknowledging the role of British Pakistanis, Rangoonwala emphasized their integration and contributions to society, advocating for more recognition of community heroes.
Shalni Arora, another BAT vice chair, received the Order of the British Empire (OBE) for her efforts in combating poverty.
Lord Jitesh Gadhia praised Rangoonwala and Arora’s dedication, emphasizing their leadership and impact in advancing the Trust’s goals.
Through the Rangoonwala Foundation, Asif has championed scholarships, medical research, and community projects, aiming to improve lives in Pakistan and beyond.
Based in Central London, Rangoonwala oversees multiple companies while continuing to drive philanthropic initiatives.
