ISLAMABAD: Last week, the discovery of five lifeless bodies, riddled with bullet holes and suspended from an electric pole in southwestern Pakistan, drew significant attention. These individuals were identified as Afghan nationals, and their remains have now been repatriated to their families, according to an announcement from Kabul’s embassy in Islamabad on Thursday.
The grim find occurred last Friday in Dalbandin city, located in Balochistan province, not far from the borders with Afghanistan and Iran. The area, known for its strategic location, was the site where these bodies were unearthed near a local college.
In a formal statement, the Afghan embassy detailed the process of returning the deceased. The bodies were handed over to their families on Wednesday at the Spin Boldak-Chaman border crossing, a key point of entry between the two countries. The Afghan consulate in Balochistan had undertaken extensive efforts to ensure the safe return of the bodies to their grieving relatives in Afghanistan.
