The traffic police in Punjab have announced increased fines for motorcycle riders who fail to wear helmets. All districts in Punjab are now enforcing a mandatory helmet law, with access restrictions for riders without helmets in several key areas.

Chief Traffic Officer (CTO) Amara Athar revealed that special checkpoints will be established on major thoroughfares, including Mall Road, Jail Road, Ferozepur Road, Canal Road, and Main Boulevard. Additional checkpoints will be set up at Shanu Baba Chowk, Lake City, Adda Plot, and Abdul Sattar Edhi Road.

To ensure compliance, traffic wardens will be stationed at entry and exit points of busy roads. Fines will also be imposed for riders who place helmets on their motorcycle tanks or wear them improperly.
