Pakistan’s Babar Azam remains the No. 1 ODI batter in the world, according to the latest ICC rankings released on Wednesday.

Meanwhile, India’s Rohit Sharma has made a notable ascent to the second position, thanks to his strong showing in the recent ODI series against Sri Lanka. Despite India’s 0-2 series loss, Rohit was the top run-scorer, accumulating 157 runs over three matches with an average of 52.33. His consistent performances, with scores of 58, 64, and 35, boosted his ranking to 765 points, placing him just behind Babar, who continues to lead with 824 points.

Rohit’s advancement in the rankings resulted in his teammate Shubman Gill dropping to third place, trailing by only two points. Virat Kohli, another prominent Indian cricketer, holds the fourth spot in the rankings.

On the Sri Lankan side, Pathum Nissanka also saw a rise in his ranking, moving up to eighth place. Nissanka’s solid contributions, including 101 runs in the series, helped him secure his place within the top ten ODI batters.
