On Friday, top military officials condemned criticism of the new anti-terrorism operation, Azm-e-Istehkam, calling it a deliberate misrepresentation for personal gain. This statement followed the 265th Corps Commanders’ Conference at GHQ in Rawalpindi, chaired by COAS General Syed Asim Munir.
The operation aims to enhance national counter-terrorism efforts and ensure stability and economic growth. The military rejected criticism as serving personal interests and vowed to tackle “digital terrorism” spread by politically motivated conspirators and foreign allies.
The conference also addressed regional security issues, especially in Afghanistan, and reaffirmed support for Kashmir and Palestine. Tributes were paid to those who sacrificed their lives for peace, and a commitment was made to support socioeconomic growth and fight illegal activities.
COAS Gen Munir stressed maintaining high standards of professionalism and operational readiness, reaffirming the army’s role in the country’s stability and prosperity.
