Veteran actress Atiqa Odho, renowned for her roles in classic dramas such as Dasht, Nijaat, and Besharam, has openly expressed her profound discontent with Pakistan’s current state. During a recent podcast appearance, Odho did not mince words in addressing the country’s ongoing struggles.

Reflecting on the nation’s challenges, Odho conveyed her deep frustration and sorrow. “I tear up when I see this country. My kids were born and raised here. I am angry and upset, and I am not going to apologize for it,” she said, her voice thick with emotion. “Nobody has the right to do what they are doing to our country.”

Now co-hosting Kia Drama Hai with Mukarram Kaleem, Odho, who has been a prominent figure in Pakistani entertainment since the early 1990s, highlighted her long-standing commitment to the nation. “I have served my country. I am 56, and I have been working since I was 18. I am not afraid to share my opinion,” she asserted, underscoring her dedication and experience.

In her candid remarks, Odho held both political leaders and the public accountable for the nation’s predicament. “Everyone has contributed to the problems this country faces—every influential person, the public, the political elites. Everybody is responsible for where we are now,” she lamented, reflecting a shared disappointment in how the nation has been let down by its own people.
