Irfan Mehsood, a well-known athlete from South Waziristan, recently grabbed headlines for an unexpected act. He returned a prize cheque worth Rs0.5 million to the KP Sports Department. Mehsood is famous for his skills in martial arts and fitness, having broken an impressive 100 Guinness World Records!
Mehsood wasn’t pleased with how he was treated by the sports department. He took to social media to explain that he felt disrespected by the officials. The issue arose when Mehsood asked for equipment for his club from the KP sports department. Instead of assisting him, they started negotiating with him. They offered him less money than he needed, only Rs0.2 million. This left Mehsood feeling upset, and he expressed, “If you can’t respect us, don’t insult us.”
Despite this setback, Mehsood has achieved significant success in athletics, earning nationwide fame. He even received the prestigious Presidential Pride of Performance Award. One remarkable aspect of Mehsood is that he’s the first Pakistani to attain 100 Guinness World Records! Among his remarkable records is lifting 63kg with his toe, surpassing Italy’s Marcello Ferri.
