Arshad Nadeem, the javelin thrower who made history by winning Pakistan’s first Olympic gold medal in the event at the Paris Olympics, has been honored with the Hilal-e-Imtiaz.

President Asif Ali Zardari presented the award during a special ceremony at Aiwan-e-Sadr on Wednesday. Nadeem set a new world record with a throw of 92.97 meters, securing Pakistan’s first individual Olympic gold in 40 years.

President Zardari praised Nadeem for his exceptional dedication and contribution to sports, noting that his achievement has significantly raised Pakistan’s global profile.

In his remarks, Nadeem expressed his gratitude to the nation and the government, dedicating the award to the people of Pakistan.
