Applications Now Open for Scotland Pakistan Scholarships for Young Women and Girls 2024-25
The British Council is now accepting applications for the Scotland Pakistan Scholarship for Young Women and Girls. This initiative provides funding for Bachelor’s and Master’s/MPhil studies for Pakistani women at any HEC-recognized university in Pakistan.
Funded by the Scottish Government, the scholarships aim to increase access to higher education for women, empowering them to realize their potential and achieve their ambitions. The British Council manages the scholarship program in Pakistan, liaising with selected scholars and universities either directly or through designated university focal persons.
Maarya Rehman, Deputy Director of British Council Pakistan, emphasized the importance of the scheme, stating, “The Scottish Scholarship Scheme is a crucial component of our efforts to support the educational goals of young women and girls in Pakistan. It helps them acquire the skills, confidence, and connections necessary to transform their lives and contribute to a more prosperous Pakistan.”
The scholarship will cover either a two-year Master’s/MPhil or a four-year Bachelor’s degree in the following fields:
– Education
– Sustainable Energy
– Food Security and Agriculture
– Health Sciences
– STEM (Masters only)
Eligibility Criteria:
– Applicants must be Pakistani nationals residing in Pakistan.
– They must be enrolled or admitted to a two-year Master’s or four-year Bachelor’s program in the specified fields.
– Applicants must have a confirmed admission offer from an HEC-recognized university in Pakistan.
Young women with disabilities, those from rural areas, and members of minority groups are particularly encouraged to apply.
