Airlines Cancel and Divert Flights Due to Airspace Closure

By

April 15, 2024

Airlines are facing problems because some countries in the Middle East, like Jordan, Iraq, and Lebanon, have closed their airspace. This means flights between Europe and Asia have to take longer routes to avoid these areas of conflict. This makes flights more expensive because more fuel is needed.

For example, Kuwait Airways is changing its flight paths to stay away from conflict zones. Swiss International Air Lines has stopped its flights to Tel Aviv to keep passengers safe.

Jordan, Lebanon, and Iraq have closed their airspace temporarily to be safe. Jordan has extended the closure because the region is still risky.

These changes show how airlines are making sure their passengers and crew stay safe during this tense time in the Middle East.
