5.4 Magnitude Earthquake Shakes Pakistan, Sparking Widespread Alarm

A powerful earthquake with a magnitude of 5.4 struck across several cities in Pakistan, including Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, Punjab, and the capital city, Islamabad. The tremors sent residents rushing out of their homes, fearful of potential structural damage.

The Meteorological Department reported that the earthquake’s epicenter was in the Hindu Kush mountains in Afghanistan, and it struck at a depth of 215 kilometers. Meanwhile, international reports, including those from a German research center, indicate a depth of 92 kilometers.

The quake’s impact was felt beyond Pakistan, reaching the border regions of Afghanistan and Tajikistan. The widespread tremors have heightened anxiety among people across the affected areas.
