The Sindh police department has taken decisive action against officers allegedly involved in supporting criminal activities, suspending 18 personnel from various districts, as reported by ARY News.
The suspended individuals consist of five inspectors, four sub-inspectors, assistant sub-inspectors, and constables, who were serving in districts including Jacobabad, Larkana, Shikarpur, Kashmore, Qambar, and Sanghar.
These suspended officers have been instructed to report to the South Zone Garden Headquarters, with an inquiry initiated against them. ASP Sukkur City Muhammad Usman will conduct the investigation.
In March, Deputy Inspector General of Police (DSP) Ahmed Karim Jilani was arrested for smuggling Gutka and other drugs. Sindh Inspector General of Police (IGP) Riffat Mukhtar suspended the DSP and ordered an inquiry, appointing DIG Mirpurkhas Tanveer Alam Odho as the inquiry officer.
