15,000 Teachers to Get Electric Bikes in Punjab

The Punjab government has started a new program where they’re giving electric bikes to 15,000 teachers in the province. The plan is led by Provincial Education Minister Sikandar Hayat and will happen in three stages. First, 5,000 teachers will get electric bikes, and then another 10,000 will get them later.

This idea came up to help teachers deal with the high prices of petrol, which make it hard for them to get to work. Switching to electric bikes will help teachers save money on fuel and make their commute to schools easier.

Minister Hayat thinks this program will help teachers save money and also be good for the environment.

Earlier, Punjab Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz Sharif started a program to give 20,000 bikes to university students in the province. In the first phase, 19,000 petrol bikes and 1,000 electric bikes will be given out. The government will help cover the costs, making it easier for students to afford the bikes. The bikes will be given out in Faisalabad, Multan, Rawalpindi, and Lahore, and students can apply until April 29th.
