An 11-year-old boy, Carlo “Kingston” Dorelli, has been arrested in Florida after allegedly showcasing a substantial array of weapons and creating a “kill list” targeting two schools.
The Volusia County Sheriff’s Office confiscated an assortment of weapons from Dorelli, including airsoft rifles, pistols, knives, swords, and throwing stars, after he displayed a video of his arsenal and made threatening remarks to classmates.
Sheriff Mike Chitwood announced the arrest on Facebook, revealing that Dorelli had compiled a list of names and potential targets. Although Dorelli claimed it was a joke, the gravity of the situation led to a felony charge for making written threats of mass violence. A video released by the sheriff’s office shows Dorelli being led into detention, accompanied by images of the seized weapons.
Chitwood condemned such threats, particularly in the wake of the recent Apalachee High School shooting in Georgia that resulted in four deaths. He warned that juveniles making threats would face public exposure and legal consequences, underscoring his commitment to holding accountable those who disrupt schools and misuse law enforcement resources.
In response to increasing violence, President Joe Biden has renewed his call for stricter gun control laws, including a comprehensive ban on assault weapons. “We cannot continue to accept the carnage of gun violence. We need more than thoughts and prayers,” Biden asserted.
