An 11-foot-long King Cobra, weighing 6.7 kilograms, was discovered inside a house in a village in Odisha, India, creating a wave of fear and fascination in the community as the incident went viral, local media reported.
The alarming event took place on Tuesday in Odisha, a state in Eastern India. Local residents alerted the forest department, which swiftly intervened to rescue the massive snake from a home in Bangra village.
After its rescue, the King Cobra was released back into its natural habitat. According to the forest department, the snake weighed 6.7 kg.
Srikanta Mohanty, Range Officer of Pithabata Range, shared details with local media: “Yesterday at around 6:30 pm, we received information about a King Cobra residing in a house at Bangra village. Upon notification, we promptly dispatched a team with experienced snake rescuers to handle the situation.”
